Scribing the future of clean energy: The UK-HyRes Project

The transition to clean energy is a huge and complex undertaking. Making it ideal source material for our visualisers. The UK-HyRes project, a multi-university collaboration, is driving the use of low carbon fuels across the UK. Over the course of a year, we worked with the project team to engage stakeholders and communicate the powerful work they are doing towards a greener future, scribing, digitally and remotely, to capture these crucial conversations.

Challenge

The UK-HyRes project faced a significant challenge: how to harness the collective knowledge and ideas of hundreds of attendees, while keeping them actively engaged, at a series of workshops held throughout the year.

The project, a collaboration between the Universities of Bath, Sheffield and Warwick, drives the adoption of low carbon hydrogen and alternative fuels to support the UK’s ambitious goal of achieving net zero emissions by 2050.

Solution

The team approached Scriberia to capture the content of a series of “regional roadshow” workshops in order to create visual summaries of the complex and wide-ranging discussions taking place. These summaries provided a coherent and easy-to-understand overview of each session.

The artwork created by Scriberia was then shared with the workshop attendees as well as incorporated into project reports, presentations, and future communications. The goal was to utilise the visuals to shape the future of clean energy by making the information more accessible and impactful.

Results

The artwork and ideas were prominently featured on the project's website and transformed into animations to further enhance engagement and understanding among a wider audience.

The UK-HyRes project successfully documented and captured the output of the workshops while keeping the attendees interested and engaged.
