A greener future: BBC Sustainability Symposium
As part of their commitment to become a greener organisation, the BBC held their inaugural Sustainability Symposium, bringing together their sustainability community to drive action toward Net Zero goals. Scriberia's live scribing team was there to capture it all.
Challenge
The BBC’s first-ever Sustainability Symposium marked a major step forward in the corporation’s journey to a cleaner, greener future.
Hosted at Broadcasting House, the event brought together 300 key suppliers and industry partners to rally behind the BBC’s Net Zero ambitions and support its push to become more sustainable.
For the event organisers the primary challenge was to drive engagement and inspire action post-event, creating a lasting sense of community and commitment among attendees.
Solution
We joined the BBC at their London HQ to capture the event’s energy in real time. On the main stage, two artists created live illustrations of the keynote speeches and panel talks, focusing on the BBC’s three sustainability pillars.
Later, for the drinks reception and networking session, we switched to a more informal, ‘reportage style’ to capture the buzz of the room, weaving in messages from the 'ideas wall' where attendees could jot down their own thoughts and ideas about sustainability.
Results
Our live scribing helped turn complex discussions into eye-catching visual summaries that captured the spirit of the event. Attendees walked away with a clear sense of the BBC’s sustainability goals and felt inspired by the vibrant, hope-filled visuals.
Post event, the hand-drawn artworks were digitised and turned into shareable visual assets packed with valuable takeaways and points of action to keep the conversation going.
We were thrilled to be part of the BBC’s efforts towards a greener future!
