    Scribing: Google's #IamRemarkable Campaign

    We sent a team of remarkable Scriberian women to create a live illustration of the inspirational content of a live and in-person workshop for Google in Zurich. Google's #IamRemarkable campaign creates a space in which the achievements of women and other underrepresented groups, in the workplace and beyond, can be celebrated.

    Challenge:

    Self-promotion is nothing to be ashamed of. That’s the message at the heart of Google’s global #IamRemarkable campaign. The initiative addresses the reluctance many women and other underrepresented groups feel when it comes to talking about their accomplishments — a reluctance rooted in everything from cultural expectations of modesty to chronic imposter syndrome.

    To help tackle this, Google launched #IamRemarkable Week, the culmination of a global schedule of workshops that encourage a louder, prouder approach to self-celebration.

    Solution:

    To mark the start of #IamRemarkable Week, Google hosted a dynamic live workshop in Zurich — and we were invited along to scribe the event. Our team of live illustrators worked in real time to capture the content, energy and emotion of the session as it unfolded.

    The workshop created a positive, collaborative space where participants could reflect on their own achievements and support others in doing the same. Our illustrated output helped visualise that celebration and bring it to life in the moment — and long after the event had wrapped.

    As one participant put it on social media, the scribing “captured the mood and message beautifully.”

    Results:

    The event was just one of many happening around the world as part of Google’s global campaign. The artwork we created serves as both a record and a rallying point — a visual prompt to celebrate what makes each of us remarkable.
